Powell Street Festival is one of Canada’s largest and longest-running community arts festivals, held in the historic Japanese-Canadian neighbourhood in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

The New Year here in Vancouver! 2025 is the Year of the Snake, symbolizing transformation and new beginnings. It’s the perfect time to embrace change and restart with fresh energy.

In 2025, I hope to finish my new picture book, create more artwork, and play the Sanshin. Here’s to a year full of creativity, health, and exciting art projects!

Powell Street Festival is one of Canada’s largest and longest-running community arts festivals, taking place in Vancouver’s historic Japanese-Canadian neighborhood, Powell Guy (now known as the Downtown East Side). The Powell Street Festival Association also hosts programs year-round and collaborates with local organizations, artists, and communities.
